PROFILES, POSTS & CREATIVE WORK.
The Joined is designed around discovery and collaboration. Some information you choose to publish is therefore intended to be visible to other people.
Depending on the relevant feature and privacy settings, profile information, company information, posts, portfolio items, projects, comments, reviews, event activity or other material may be visible to other members or publicly accessible visitors.
Information placed in a public area of The Joined can potentially be viewed, copied, photographed, indexed or shared by other people.
Avoid publishing information that you do not want to be publicly associated with you.
Where privacy controls are available, those controls determine how the relevant information is displayed within The Joined. They cannot prevent somebody who has legitimately seen public information from independently recording or sharing it elsewhere.
If you delete content, copies may temporarily remain in backups, caches, moderation records or other systems where retention is reasonably necessary.
MESSAGES & INTERACTIONS.
Where messaging or other private communication features are available, The Joined processes the information necessary to transmit, store and display those communications to their intended recipients.
We may also process communications and associated information where reasonably necessary to provide technical support, investigate a report, prevent misuse, protect members, enforce platform rules, comply with law or establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
We do not treat private messages as public profile content merely because they are transmitted using The Joined.
HOW & WHY WE USE INFORMATION.
We only use personal information where we have an appropriate lawful basis for doing so.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include performance of a contract, taking steps before entering into a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests or your consent.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the processing is necessary and proportionate and whether your rights and interests override those interests.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.
The Joined does not sell personal information to advertisers, data brokers or other organisations.
We do not normally make decisions about individuals solely through automated processing where those decisions produce legal or similarly significant effects.
If this changes in relation to a particular feature, we will provide appropriate information and safeguards.
COOKIES & SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES.
The Joined may use cookies and similar technologies for security, account functionality, preferences, statistical measurement, advertising and other website features.
Where consent is required by law, technologies requiring that consent should not be activated until you have made the appropriate choice.
WHO WE MAY SHARE INFORMATION WITH.
We may share personal information where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
Where another organisation processes personal information on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to put appropriate data protection arrangements in place.
INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS.
Levlan operates internationally and technology used to provide The Joined may involve providers, systems, team members or infrastructure located in different countries.
Personal information may therefore be accessed or processed outside the United Kingdom where this is necessary to operate the service or provide the relevant feature.
This may include countries in Europe and other locations in which Levlan personnel or technology providers operate.
Where personal information is transferred internationally and applicable law requires additional protection, we will use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism or other recognised safeguard and consider the level of protection available in the destination country.
HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION.
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
The appropriate retention period depends on the type of information, the service involved, whether your account remains active, applicable legal requirements and whether the information may be relevant to an actual or potential dispute.
Some information may need to be retained after an account is closed, including financial records, legal records, security information, reports, moderation records or information necessary to establish or defend legal rights.
Backup copies may also remain for a limited period before being overwritten or securely deleted.
When information is no longer required, we will delete it, anonymise it or otherwise dispose of it appropriately.
SECURITY.
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information against accidental loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
Access to administrative systems and personal information is restricted according to operational requirements and appropriate permissions.
No internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and members should also take reasonable precautions to protect their accounts.
